Series Review: Highlander Graphic Novels


I’ve been a fan of Highlander for some years now. Twenty-two years to be exact. For the sake of full transparency, I’ve always been more of a fan of the first film and Connor MacLeod’s story arc than the show and Duncan. Definitely no dislike of the show involved, and I did watch it when it aired, but the need for more story for Connor is more of what I was invested in here. Luckily it’s mainly what the comics gave, so you’ll find I was pretty satisfied with the graphic novels overall. Let’s examine them one by one.

Why You Absolutely Should Read Lilith’s Brood by Octavia Butler


I’ve recently finished Lilith’s Brood (still known in some circles as The Xenogenesis Trilogy) by Octavia Butler. It’s become an instant new favorite, and I really want everyone to read it. I thought of doing a full series review, but I realized that, due to my love of it, it would just be me gushing. I’d be hard-pressed to be critical, since there’s so little that is wrong with it in my mind. So instead I’m going to indulge myself and talk about all the reasons it’s great and should be read by everyone.

Series I Need To Finish


My relationship with book series is interesting, to say the least. A series has to be something I consider special to keep me reading book after book set in the same world about the same general storyline. Even then, because I’m a mood reader, keeping up with series and returning to them in a timely fashion can be a challenge for me. With that in mind, I’m trying to improve and finish some things.
